Common Ground Producers and Growers, Inc. has been providing fresh produce to the food desert and food insecurity areas in the Wichita area for the last 7 years. Their mission is “All are fed. No one is Hungry!”

- The milpa seed mix was planted with the Sedgwick County Conservation District's 4-foot drill.
- Granddaughters learned as they watered the milpa plantings so that the seeds would sprout.
- Common Ground Producers and Growers planned to use animals (goats, sheep, chickens, etc.) to clean up the milpa plants at the end of their season. The animals helped regenerate the soil.
- Timely rains sprouted a 2023 broadcast planting. Seed was acquired through the Green Cover Seed 'First Acre' project.
