Max and Anne Tjaden provided the irrigated one acre location on the edge of an irrigation pivot. Max planted the seed using the Sedgwick County Conservation District's 10 foot no-till drill. The goal is to teach soil health concepts while local groups harvest and distribute the produce in the Clearwater area.
Highlights: Ninnescah Valley 4H Club challenged their members to harvest milpa greens and use them in a salad. A Feds Feed Familiesharvest event delivered 240 lbs. of produce to the KS Food Bank and Clearwater Community Center. Milpa flowers were used in a wedding. Pollinators are busy!
